I have an Acer Aspire 5741G and I want to know what is the average temperature that my cpu has to heat. I know that the temperature will determine by what programs it is currently running but I want a general idea of what the processor should be running.

I am really concerned beacause I recently changed laptop's hard disk and the technician told me that it was broken beacause of the high temperatures! And now, it still having overheating problem.

For instance, I watched a full screen movie for 40 minites and my cpu heat 75°C. ( And if I am correct, 90°C is the max)

I hope that you will find a solution to my problem.

Thanks for your time!

Hi I experienced a similar problem with my aged Toshiba Satellite--caused all sorts of crashes etc

Solution was to purchase an external fan unit (c £15 at the tme, from Tesco) that sits under the laptop and is powered by USB

No further problems in last 2 years!!

A possible solution that worked for me

    Regards Graham

Thanks for your response and your help! Me too, I recently bought a cooler and I am waiting to arrive. It has 28cfm air flow and 500rpm speed. Can you tell me your opinion about this specifications of my cooler? It will reduce the temperature of my laptop a bit?

And I posted my problem here so I can have an explanation from Acer technician why I am facing overheating problems.

This isn't much, but my Aspire E1-421 generally ran at about 125F. I bought a fan cooler and it runs at about 115F now.

that is wierd just watching movies are there any background application running like games

open task manager and see process and mouse to CPU if there is an app that is using 30-80% of cpu resources i suggest to end that process and see if there are any rootkit activity that is presence use gmer and free up some RAM use any app google it.
