Which would be the best ssd for aver aspire a515-51g-5071 m.2 sata 3 or m.2 nvme pcie?

    are both supported by this laptop as when i asked acer helpline they said to buy m.2 sata 3 ssd but here in other questions i get to know that m.2 nvme pcie ssd is also supported.

    Yes, both are compatible but you will not see any noticeable difference between these SSDs, you can benefit using a M.2 NVMe SSD if you transfer large files often otherwise M.2 SATA SSD will be sufficient as a boot drive.

    I strongly believe M.2 NVMe SSD ( Gen 3 x4 drives have 3,400 MB/s read speed)  better than M.2 SATA SSD (650 MB/s read speed). Once the PC starts reading from the drive during the bootup process, the advantage of using NVMe SSD starts there too. Based on my experience, launching programs and navigating inside Windows, shutting downs...etc. , almost everything, it is noticeable that a NVMe drive is faster than a SATA SSD.

    Also, I suggest getting a WD SN750 Black, which is a high end gen 3 drive (3,400 MB/s), while the WD SN 550 only has 2,600 MB/s read speed, I won't consider it a high end gen 3 NVMe SSD.
