My laptop only have a hdd drive (ST1000LM035-1RK172 ,I found this model name from the windows 10 device manager. I never seen the hard disk as I didn't remove the laptops cover.).in the bios menu the hard disk sata mode is set to RST with optane.I never installed anything to the nvme port in this lap.in the device manager it only shows my hdd.the intel optane memory management utility came preinstalled.
1.So can there be a optane memory built in to the motherboard of the lap?My laptop gets stuck some times when hard disk usage becomes high.I thought to change the sata mode in bios to ahci (currently the option is greyed out,but i saw that pressing ctrl+s inside the bios will unlock that in a post.never tried that before,i am gonna try that, thats why I am asking from you guys. )
2. If I change the sata mode to ahci, will it improve the laptops performance? or Will my laptop stops from booting as i changed the sata mode?another thing to mention is that the hard disk drivers installed are from 2006.i tried updating drivers through the windows update and iobit driver updater pro.but no updates were there for that hard disk drive.I attached some pictures of the device manager.
I attached some screenshots from the intel optane and memory manager aslo.it came preinstalled with windows.
