Acer C722 trackpad stops working, running 91.0.4472.114 already

Member Posts: 3 New User
I work at a school and we have several C722 where the trackpad is appearing to fail.  Usually it is when the lid is closed by the student and re-opened when they get to their next class.  The chromebooks are already running v91.0.4472.114.  Any suggestions?

Is there any chance it's a mechanical issue? I have seen instances where the battery starts to swell, putting upward pressure from below on the trackpad...

The batteries were all ok, I'm leaning towards a bad run of trackpads.  The shipment we got seems to have a lot of bad screens, so it's entirely possible that the trackpads are actually bad.  We're authorized service, but we don't want to go and order a bunch of trackpads if that's not the problem.  Thanks for the input!

    Scott1969,

    Check for updates yourself

    1. Turn on your Chromebook.
    2. Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
    3. At the bottom right, select the time.
    4. Select Settings .
    5. At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.
    6. Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
    7. Select Check for updates.
    8. If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.

Yes, I wouldn't think it's software, unless it has something to do with waking from sleep.

I sent one back to the student after updating to v93  (v91 is as far as we're pushing in admin).  This kid has had this one back to us 4 times, so we'll see if it comes back again.
