Fans no longer speed up when gaming on Nitro 5 AN515-54

Member Posts: 10 New User
I bought this laptop last year, and everytime I opened up a game the fans would automatically speed up in order to ensure better performances and temperatures. Like 2 months ago the fans stopped doing in automatically, now I have to manually max them on Nitrosense before I open the game. Even then, the games now perform worse; games that were a solid 60fps now drop to mid 50s and 40s. How do I fix that? I replaced one of the fans that was broken, the other one still seems fine. Is there a specific driver I must update? If so, which one? I don't really know which driver controls the fan speeds.
Please Help

I don't think it's the fans issue, What temperature are your CPU and GPU when the fps drops to 50 etc? It might be that your laptop is over heating and thermal throttling

I'm not sure, this laptop is known to get pretty hot, the keyboard is always warm when gaming. If it's indeed thermal throttling, what can I do to fix it? Sorry, but I'm not tech savvy

Check the temperatures from Nitro Sense when you experience the frame drops and let me know, You could probably fix it by repasting and cleaning the air vents but confirm first that it is thermal throttling or not, I'm also having the fps drop issue but yeah

When gaming the laptop's reaching the 90 Celsius. idle it usually runs around mid 50s to 60s Celsius

Hmm, Download throttlestop and click on the limits tab and keep it running in the background, In case any throttling is happening it'll let you know to confirm it

In nitro sense there are two temp's.  CPU and GPU.  Please let us know both while gaming (and plugged into the wall).
