Just want to add to the above i would definitely recommend to disable windows updates completely (either via regedit or windows update blocker) as usually they will cause more harm than good (good old microsoft and their spyware telemetry and more etc...) which causes fps loss for those fps gamers that are trying to squeeze the most fps optimising windows properly its the first to do and of course undervolting and only update whatever you need when needed manually especially if you have older hardware mostly dgpu  no need to as the newer drivers are optimized for the new hardware and not the old one in some cases i have seen might even affect the performance of the old hardware severely as nvidia starts slowly to drop support for the older dgpus in a few years the 1000 series wont be supported anymore as it happened to the 900's lately :)

Optimize your windows if you havent already and undervolt also 8gb ram its a hudge no no get a proper dual channel set either hyperx/vengeance 16gb minimum or 32 and if after all the optimization/undervolting youre still over 85'ish on cpu and 70/75 dgpu i would suggest if youre able to without voiding your warranty to repaste it with kryonaut or similar if not send it back to get it repasted with stock paste also make sure you minimise PS as it uses 25% cpu and about 500mb ram if not minimized same with any other real time monitoring software like msi ab for ex and keep the back lifted 2/3" for a proper airflow good luck :)

Your thermal system may have a big problem. A proper gaming laptop should always stay clam under 50 Celsius even if it utilized very high specs. As if you go for heavy load, the average temperature should not exceed 70C. Even the most extremely situation, no allowance to more than 80C or you should consider upgrade your thermal system.

Your machine may pop-up a blue screen if you persist to use it for gaming later on.

The max temps on any gaming laptop before thermal throttling are 80/85'ish cpu and 70/75'ish dgpu this assuming its already properly optimized and undervolted or even repasted if needed to :)

Firstly and remember, your Predator Helios 300 is designed to operate at high temp, all gaming laptops are designed like that due to their restrictive enclosures and restrictive cooling options that manufacturers are restricted to. If your laptop operates and does not have FPS drops and it handles games then I wouldn't worry about it as these laptops are designed to automatically shut down at temps in the range of 105c and to operate at extreme temps of and in the range of specs of 98c with Fan-1 at 4500 rpm and Fan-2 at 4200rpm and then all fans reduce their rpm's at 95c which is how these laptops operate at these extreme temps, all this is designed into these laptops.

What I would suggested (as its been suggested above) is for you to repaste the CPU/GPU with a high end paste like the Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme paste and also and if you are playing extreme CPU/GPU demanding games for long periods of time then get a good laptop tablet cooler that will dissipates the extensive heat that prolonged gaming generates. There is no magic pill and/or solutions to laptop extreme heat and prolonged gaming as they will always generate allot of heat! Well I shouldn't say that as you can go extreme and do all sorts of extreme cooling mods but then your Predator Helios 300 won't be a laptop anymore. Btw I've got a Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S with the Intel Core i7-11800H and the RTX 3060-6GB that has been upgraded to 32GB RAM so I know all this from personal experience and I've done all of the above and this laptop works perfectly and as Acer designed it to do, also keep all your drivers and Win-10 up to date and I'd also recommend that you also activate the TRIM function within Win-10 for your SSD drive to function to its optimal performance throughout its lifespan. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

I would like to add to this conversation. I have the same laptop PH315-54 and I am seeing extremely weird cpu temps. I use a monitoring software called open hardware monitor I use it because it has a graphing function. I noticed that cores 1, 3, 5, and 7 all run around 85c to 95c when gaming. Cores 2, 4, 6, and 8 all run between 60c and 75c. I have never seen this activity in a cpu ever and I have been a PC gamer and System Admin since the early 2000's. I know for a fact that its not cpu utilization issues cause even prime95 stress test gives me this sort of grouping of temps.

I re-pasted my cpu and gpu twice over the last 2 weeks and I have not seen any changes. I cleaned out the fans and cooler fins also. I use a laptop cooling fan to get extra airflow to the laptop as well. I used Arctic MX-4 this time and prior to that Arctic Silver 5 paste.

I don't remember these temps when I first got the laptop (I would have noticed, I am a performance hound) so I was just wondering if anyone has seen this issue at all? Oh and I also run Linux on this laptop alongside Windows 10 21H2. Everything is also up to date with drivers and all as of 10/9/2022.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me!
