Hi all,

I'm writing this post in order to know how do I check if everything is fine with my machine. You see, I think my computer is faulty but I don't know for sure, the performance isn't very great and I don't know why. The updates are all in order and computer is still brand new, I've been using it for less than a month. The model of my machine is an Acer nitro 5 AN517-52 and it has these specs:
  • CPU: intel i7 10750h
  • GPU: geforce RTX 3060
  • RAM: 8 gb DDR4 (2600 MHz)
  • Storage: 256 SSD
  • Screen: 17.3" 120hz

I'm no expert when it comes to computers. I tried like two benchmarks, which were "UserBenchmark" and "Novabench". Both websites gave my computer a rather low score, but I've been hearing that those websites are not necessarily very trustworthy and even that depending on what website you use you might get different results. So, is there a way to know exactly if is everything is fine? I've considering sending my machine to acer to get it sort it out, but the thing is they already charge you 50£ just for the shipping and if everything turns out to be fine then I'm going to be paying 50 quid for nothing. I went asking for support at a local curry's pc world store and they basically did nothing. They told me to call the support number and the guy to whom I spoke with said, "If you're not satisfied with the product, either get a refund or swap it for something else". The guy at the my local curry's store also mentioned something about Acer having a software of their own to check if their computers are working properly, if that's even true, is there a way I can get my hands on it? I've been looking online for other solutions but to no avail.

Please, if anybody reading this post would be so kind to point me towards something that might help me out, I would be very much so grateful.

Looking at that the reason its so slow is its used the wrong graphics card :)! You can choose the graphics card can be chosen by following this guide:
    https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Faq/How-to-force-Optimus-or-Switchable-discrete-GPUs/97

But you may also need to chose the exe within  start -> gprahics settings as well

Also the user benchmark are public so you can link to them ^,^

    https://www.userbenchmark.com/userrun/45436211

There is also a huge ammount of background CPU usage which will impact the score. The CPU score is slightly lower than expected but with the level of background use its not unexpected, id check task manager to see whats eating system resources :)

    Greetings once again, Leostat!

So I did as you said and afterwards I tried to run another test on UserBenchmark and it says that the GPU isn't doing very well. Here follows the link for the new test that I did, while the computer wasn't plugged in.

Could it be that the low GPU score as something to do with ram maybe? I've heard that 8gb isn't enough and it might cause performance issues.

And if it's not plugged in the low score is also expected :) the internal battery can deliver enough wattage to run it so everything slows down.

8 gigs of ram can be low, but depending on what you are running it could be ok. The major thing is having it in dual channel mode, so having both slots occupied

When benchmarking always be plugged in and fully charged!

    Greetings Leostat.

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for the extremely late response. Secondly, I would like to thank you for helping me getting this issue sort out.
Though strangely enough, I haven't really noticed much difference in terms of the performance but at least the benchmark results came out good.

Again, I am much grateful for your assistance, thank you.
