Input not supported on R1 R241Y

Just purchased this from my local Staples. I hooked it up to the computer and it displays a grey box that says "input not supported". I tried a different HDMI cord (thinking maybe it was related), no such luck. TIA.

First, what is your computer models number that you are trying to connect this monitor to? As the "Input Not Support" is when the Hsync Frequency or the Vsync Frequency or the  Resolution is out of the monitor support range and that is when the monitor will show this message. The message will be flying across the screen. Change the display settings of your computer and try with the lowest settings as below and appropriately find the right one, as and is described, the assigned display modes have 21 factory settings as described below.

This is from the R241Y SG's - Factory Assigned Display Modes: There are 21 factory pre-set video modes. Pre-defined mode parameters will be recalled if the operating mode is one of those pre-set modes. If the operating mode is not one of those stored in memory, the monitor CPU will select the PRESET timing for a mode that is the next lowest in horizontal scanning frequency The screen parameters can be adjusted by the front bezel control buttons and then saved as a user defined mode. The monitor shall include all the preset video timings shown in the following table.

    1.3.5 Controller Requirements:

1.3.5.1 General Requirements: The monitor shall include a controller which is capable of converting the analog RGB signal or DVI digital signal to the panel. The controller will include a PLL, A/D converters, TMDS receiver and other circuitry necessary to perform its function. The PLL shall be stable enough to ensure a stable image.

1.3.5.2 Video Stretching: The monitor shall have the function to “stretch” the video signal, so that an input signal from the computer in any resolution smaller than 1920x1080 is automatically expanded to fill the entire screen.

1.3.5.3 Panel Timing and Interface: The controller supplied with the monitor shall control all panel timing. This controller shall adequately insulate the monitor from the computer, so that no possible combination of input signals from the computer shall cause damage to the flat panel or any other component of the monitor

If you can't set this monitor to the above settings then its most probably your GPU that is wrongly setup and/or it needs a drivers updated or your GPU is too old and/or faulty and needs fixing.

It's a computer I built myself. ASUS Strix B550-A motherboard paired with a Ryzen 5 5600G (no discrete GPU for the moment). I tested the monitor on a different computer that had an actual discrete GPU and it worked fine.

Upgrade your AMG graphic drivers and/or take the CPU out and repaste the CPU and put it back again, as the Ryzen 5 - 5600U has the RX Vega 8 integrated GPU and the GPU has a Freq. (MHz) of 2000 so it should run this monitor perfectly and very easily! To me it looks like you either haven't seated the CPU properly and there is a problem with your CPU's display or CPU prongs of the Ryzen 5 5600G or the mobo is faulty at either the HDMI or Display Port outlets?

Have you tried to use a "Display Port Cable"  see 4 in diagram of the ASUS Strix B550-A mobos back panel to connect the monitor with? Try that and see if that works, because and if it doesn't work then there is something wrong with how you have setup that ASUS Strix B550-A mobo and there are some drivers you haven't installed or your ASUS Strix B550-A mobo is faulty. Check all that as there is nothing wrong with your Acer Monitor if it works on another comuter with a dedicated card as it should work perfectly with an integrated CPU/GPU.
