What is the Wi-Fi adapter's manufacturer? You don't have Wi-Fi, but do you still have Ethernet connection?

How about you uninstall the Wi-Fi driver from the Device Manger first, and then let Windows update to re-install it again for you automatically.

If the Wi-Fi adapter is an Intel one, you can download and run Intel Driver and Support Assistant from Intel site to get it.

I have the same model and found I needed to update the driver as the version that came with the laptop was very old. I expect that you have the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201. Check what version driver is installed by using Win key+X; select Device Manager; Network Adapters. Then double click on Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and select Driver to see the version & date.

The latest driver is version 22.70.0 released on 13th Aug, 2021. You can get it here: Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (Gig+)

Do that first however, being unable to connect to the router sounds like it may be a different problem. Possible issues are:
    - incorrect password
    - incorrect settings for the adapter driver
    - incorrect settings for the router

Hard to point you in the right direction without more info. Assuming you have access to the router settings, that is the most likely source of connection problems. Have a look there to see what frequencies, security protocols & 802.11 protocols it supports.

You can get a USB to ethernet hub. Pretty cheap & works fine. The one I have has 1 ethernet port & 3 USB ports in addition to the USB connection to the laptop.

I am still using the version 22.40.07 adapter driver & it works fine so that's not the problem. Are you able to access the router settings? What are the symptoms when you try to connect?

Intel has done a bunch of updates to the AX200/AX201 drivers, I am running 22.70.06 and not seeing any issues.

O.K., you have an Intel AX201. Since it is an Intel Wi-Fi card, using the Diver and Support Assistant should do it if it is the problem with the driver. I'll suggest you go to a friend's place and use the Wi-Fi there, should not be difficult.

By the way, have you unplug your router cables and wait ten minutes and then plug back everything? Sometimes it may be the router problem, not the laptop's problem.
