I can't seem to alt tab smoothly when I have apps open.
I can only switch smoothly between Chrome tabs or apps.
If I switch from an app to a Chrome tab, I'll have to press "tab" twice. This has never happened before. I tried redownloading the apps but it still happens.
When I switched the layout, I noticed this (picture below). Is this the reason to why I can't switch tabs smoothly? If so, what can I do?

I wonder if you have a setting in Chrome that's giving priority to Chrome tab switching instead of the normal Windows app switching. Which model laptop do you have? Which OS version is running? Which version of Chrome is running?

    Uhh, I'm afraid I don't understand... 😅
But I do know that I rarely ever touch Chrome's settings and that I'm currently using an Acer Swift 3

There have been literally hundreds of different Swift 3 models... Yours should be something like SF3xx-xxx-xxxx.

OK, I don't see the R4KU model in my list, so it is liable to be one that is not for the US market. Are you running Windows on it? How much memory is installed, what size and type of drive? I think it is Malaysian with an AMD CPU, but can't easily drill down deeper than that. If you are running Windows, bring up either Task Manager or Resource Monitor and look at what your memory usage is. If you are getting low on memory when the issue occurs it might be swapping to disk. That can be a significant delay if you have a HDD, less so if you have a SSD.

    Memory is at 49%
    Installed RAM is 16GB
Idk abt the type of drive but I found this "64-bit operating system, x64-based processor"

OK, 16GB of memory should be plenty, and the 49% figure says the same. You shouldn't be swapping out to disk due to low memory. We still need to look at the drive itself to see if it's a HDD or SSD. Fire up Disk Management, select the drive (Disk 0 in my example), right click it and select Properties. The Properties title bar should give the disk model. Mine is a SK Hynix drive model HFM512GDJTNI, which is a 500GB NVMe SSD.

Hi, I went into Disk Management and "Disk 0" but it only shows 'Help' and the other Disk 0 doesn't allow me to click on 'properties'
What's weird is I shut down my laptop for the 5th time after this problem arose and to my surprise, alt+tab is working smoothly again. The unnamed program is gone (for now I think 😅).

Sometimes Disk 0 isn't the one with the system installed...
