Acer Aspire AS7750Z-4446 connectivity issues

Hi there, I've had this Acer-refurbished laptop about two months, and from day one it's had connectivity issues. It recognizes my wireless network as normal, and always indicates that I'm connected. But when I open browser, and/or refresh it, Internet Explorer is disturbingly lifeless. Every now-and-then, it connects via wifi (after many restarts, and open/closing the browser). I plug in the LAN cable and get the same result! NOTE: every other computer/smart device in my home connects no problem.

Weird: the Chrome browser seemed to connect everytime (I've since uninstalled Chrome - don't ask me why?)

I cannot escape this problem. Does anyone have a clue? Drivers, maybe?

Thank you very much!

I'm running Windows 7. Network adapter: Atheros AR8151.

UPDATE: I just re-installed Chrome browser and it connects to the internet no problem! This means Internet Explorer is the issue. What on earth could cause IE to malfunction like this? It just hangs. I'm going to un-install then re-install.

    Hi guys.

I posted this issue yesterday, where my laptop would not connect to my home network (wifi nor LAN). Internet Exporer would just hang. Every now-and-then it connects. So I downloaded the Chrome browser (which took forever), and VOILA! The darn thing is humming now....only in Chrome though.

So my question is: 1.) would could possibly be causing IE 10 to behave like this?. This laptop is only 2 months old, worked fine the first week. I get the feeling Windows Updates may be the culprit. And 2.) Do you guys think this is a Windows problem, and I should go there for help?

I know this seems very trivial but I would really want to get to the bottom of this. thanks!
