You can install either a plain vanilla m.2 SATA3 SSD card or an m.2 NVME SSD card up to about 2TB. The NVME card should work at least twice as fast as the SATA3 card.

It is an NVME m.2 port that can also function as a SATA3 m.2 port. So it is effectively both.types of m,2 port

Should be fine, the pin thats missing is a power saving / low power mode pin only which is used by some intel systems1

Don't worry, You have M-key bump socket. The EVO NVME m-key slot should fit m-key bump socket and work at twice SATA3 speeds.
