Can someone help identify the problem?

Windows Update decided to install a BIOS update while my Predator was on battery power. I am almost certain this is a failed bios write.

Symptoms: Predator powers up
No screen life, No response to input keys.
Activity light is on, Never shuts off.

Power is recognized with a beep.

Reseated RAM, Disconnected battery.

Not to sure what else to do outside of reinstalling a new BIOS Chip. I heard that if I short some battery pins, It MAY kick my computer back into a workable state.

If anyone can help me confirm that this is in fact a corrupted BIOS flash then I will go ahead and order the parts to do this repair.

    P.S
I also removed the CMOS Battery for about 5 minutes. Nothing came of that. I'm not sure if this a dumb question.

Does that Fn+Esc key combination work to reflash the BIOS from Flash Drives anymore? Or is that the way of the dogs now?
