I've sent it in twice already. The first time it came back with a new power supply, the second time they said they replaced the battery. The second time I got it back it charged the battery twice, once on day 1 just to test it, and again after using it until I was on 10% then recharging. I've re-installed and updated drivers, updated firmware, updated all Acer software, updated the BIOS, unplugged and held down the power button then waited 20 minutes and plugged it in and let it sit overnight and nothing's worked. It will not charge at all even when off and plugged in overnight, on standby, or even ight usage. I'm holding steady at 72% and have both blue and amber lights on the side lit up and it beeps if I plug or unplug it. when I unplug, the amber charging light turns off but the blue stays on (fully charged?). I'd like to not have to send it in again but I'm still under warranty.  Any advice?

    Hi Easwar,
I did that before I made the post but I was on Win 11. I'm now on a fresh install of Win 10. When I first power it up, the battery icon does the charging progress thing 6 times within about 30 seconds then stops. I'm still at 72% both lights still on, no change in battery life. It "charged" all night powered off with no change in charge level. Is there another thing to try or a next step?

I just tested both chargers and I'm getting 19V on each. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be sending it in for a 3rd time.

Try resetting the battery: turn off the computer, disconnect the power supply, press the power button for 30 seconds and leave the laptops off for 30 minutes.

Thanks but that was one of the first steps I did and I repeated it several times for varying lengths of time.

I saw somewhere that said they got results by unplugging the battery for a few minutes and plugging it back in. I did that and it is now charging. The next thing to figure out is why it worked even though it was firmly in place before (I checked several times)

Does anyone have any experience with this?

  • Ideally, check the battery terminals with a multimeter.
