Predator Helios 300 PH315-53-71HN

I purchased this 2 weeks ago, opened the back to add SSD and change RAM. Computer worked fine, and still works fine with the AC adapter plugged in. However, if it is unplugged, the computer shuts off. And it won't start if the adapter isn't plugged in.

-When plugged in, battery charge light is on
-Tried the battery reset (hold power button, etc.)
-Tried uninstalling the driver
-Checked all screws to make sure they are tight
-Ran battery test in Acer care, everything was fine

Looked at different posts, have tried everything suggested. Any other suggestions?

    Hi dahlsw,

Is the battery fully charged when you unplug it.

The battery says 96%, but doesn't change no matter how long it is plugged in.

    hello,

If it's under warranty, @AuntyShrew and @dahlsw, send it to acer service center so they fix it.

Befor sending it to repair center try this,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.

    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.

Not sure if this has been resolved for you, but i thought I'd share what i did to fix the issue on mine. I opened the laptop up and unplugged the battery from the board, then plugged it back in. It seemed silly considering the computer was only 1 month old, but it actually fixed the issue. hopefully this helps somebody.
