I did a search and either followed advice or don't have windows 10 disc to use.

Battery went bad so I replaced it.  Turned laptop on and had the no bookable message.

I've done the bios date check, when I switch from UEFI to Legacy and restart I go into safemode? automatically and it wants a disc, which I don't have.

Boot priority is
1. HDD0: LITEON CV1-8B128
2. HDD1
3. HDD2  HGST HTS721010A9E630
4. ATAPI... etc.
Etc.

Don't know where to go from here. Don't have anything external to boot from.

Thanks

BTW I did download windows 10 to a thumb drive so I could try that but couldn't get it to show up on the booklist.

    SHatfield,

Thank you for sharing the screenshots.

HDD is detected. i would suggest you to try pressing Alt + F10 while booting and try to perform a refresh. (Refresh does not delete the data but, the software installed by you will be removed)

Well. I have to admit my mistakes and take my medicine! When I pulled the tab to remove the HDD I slightly pushed another component out of its slot, I believe my son said it was where Windows resided. Pushed it back into its slot ... computer back to normal. Thanks to everyone who tried to help.
