Chromebook R11 Increasing the size of the machine?

The feature of this machine was that it was extremely cheap, reliable (for changes to software).
I liked that a bunch, avoiding big downloads. I used to downloads updates, at least once per week on my old machine.

My thoughts are that that this machine is about 15 Gb (Gigabytes) total of changeable stuff, which seems quite small size, in total.
It's actually, by usability, about 4-5 Gb.
Is there any way to increase that size?  Hardware? Maybe by compression? Any other ideas?
What is taking up all that space?

  Thanks for reading this.

You haven't given us enough info... What computer do you have? My assumption since you posted in the tablets section that it is a tablet. Windows or Android? Typically on the small machines you use an SD card to increase the storage and put all your user files there, so there is room on the internal drive for apps.

It is a tablet, that I`m on; which can be good.
My machine is a touchscreen Acer Chromebook R11.
It is a chromebook, which is a very different OS, from Windows.
      Sorry not for mentioning that.
    -----------------

I saw "The best solution is to purchase an usb external hdd, connect it and use it for more storage".
    -----------------

There`s more to it (I`ve got a situation that`s described above).

I have a partially full hard drive which is window's format. The hard drive Is about 10 Years old. I hope it still works, and it would be nicer on a better drive (wishing hopefully).
Although it contains a lot of good stuff, it's in two volumes, which are not too bad. For example, it has music on it, which is organized by folders, and categories, nicely.

It would be slow, but I could test that.
How much does a new drive, compact size cost?

Now I need to investigate how I would make this new system work.
      Looking forward to this adventure.

Thanks for listening, I`ll be back later, hopefully with news.

Looks like the moderators moved you to the appropriate forum. I'd be more inclined to use an SD card to expand, you could use your external drive to copy the data from your old drive if you want, but an SD card won't force you to carry around something other than the Chromebook itself.
