Touch Screen not responding on Acer W700

I was browsing the internet last night and noticed that my touch screen had stopped responding. After digging deeper, I noticed that the drivers for the touch screen were no longer present, and the W700 had seemingly no knowledge that it was a touch-based device anymore. There were no longer options for "pen and touch" or "tablet pc" settings in the control panel anymore. A system restore did not fix the problem. I searched the acer website to reinstall the appropriate driver, but I was not able to find the driver that corresponded to the touch screen. Is this a driver issue, or should I be looking somewhere else to fix the problem.

Thanks

I am facing same issue with my W700 too. Have you  found the cause and how to resolve? Would appreciate it.

Please do share with me which drivers need to be installed. i reinstalled the tablet along with all latest drivers but now touch is no longer working and also windows message no touch or pen input device.

Try to reinstall all drivers marked as "other" in their download page.

If still not shows it in 'device manager' just try 'add new hardware' and see what happens.

    Cheers.

Cannot speak to W700 but on W510 after installing Windows To Go on a 120GB SDD I also had to install the Intel driver set from Acer. Then everything worked.

BTW it looks like some Intel graphics driver upgrades disable touch. See: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-slate-tablets/Intel-Graphics-Driver-deactivates-Touchscreen/td-p/1109393
