My Acer Aspire 3 A315-41-R287 screen turns white all of a sudden after turning it on. What can be the probable cause why it turns to be like that? Thank you.

So does mine when I first turn it on. But then it operates normally. Are you saying it's always a white screen? If so, press and hold power button till machine shuts off. Then unplug charger. Then insert paperclip into reset pinhole on bottom of machine for 30 seconds. Then plug charger back in. Then wait  for the battery charge light to turn to steady blue from steady orange. Then turn the machine on again

It can't go to the BIOS page because its just only the white you you'll see.

OK. Does HDMI out to a TV also show a white screen?

    Hi kebs,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Shutdown the unit.
    2. Unplug the cables connected to the unit.
    3. At bottom of the unit there will be a small tiny pin hole with a battery symbol close to it. Take a pin or a paper clip insert into it you feels like pressing a button hold it for 20-30 seconds.

Nothing shows. The external monitor shows black screen through out.

I did try this again. Then seconds after, I got a half white screen. When I try to refresh the unit the screen goes flickering until it goes to white screen again.

Try to turn on the external screen with the FN+F5 toggle key combination.

Has the HDMI port ever worked with an external screen?
