Hi Everyone
I just recently bought the Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K and wanted to upgrade the NVMe drive. It currently has a 128gb drive and i wanted to go to 1TB .
What is the best drive for this laptop…..and would it be better to install the secondary SATA drive in the empty spot?…It also comes with 4gb memory…should i upgrade that with the drive…if so…what would be best for that as well….Any help will be much APPRECIATED…THANKS

    Hi,
    You can upgrade the storage with a M.2 NVMe SSD up to 1TB, you can also install a 2.5" SATA SSD but it's not necessary, another 2.5" normal HDD will be sufficient, as for the memory, you have 4GB onboard memory and a slot for upgrade, you can install up to 16GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM in the slot.

    I just ordered this laptop and will do the memory upgrade too.
    Apparently this Kingston RAM stick will be compatible, that will give you 20GB total.
    For my laptop, just adding 4GB will be enough.

    @ArcFlash

    You may want to use cloning software or use the Win 10 Create System Image method (will need another external HDD or SSD to store the image, and then restore the image to the new drive) to migrate the Win 10 and the existing data to the new M.2 NVMe SSD.

    Try search from this site how other people did the migration of Win 10.
