My chromebook has reached the term on its updates. Why can’t acer offer continued security updates

Why can’t acer offer continued security updates for a nominal fee after your motherboard expires as mine will at the seventh year . No one offers a safety program for chromebook.

    OS updates are provided by Google, not Acer. Acer doesn't have the resources in house to do the OS, and likely wouldn't be able to get the sources anyway. Google does provide some extended support for the enterprise versions of the ChromeOS, but not for consumer products.
