Nitro VG252Q Monitor Suddenly got horizontal lines from top to bottom
Im using a Acer Nitro VG252Q P, since 2019, so its been 2 years already, I would like to gain insight on why my IPS monitor suddenly got horizontal lines, it happened 30 mins after i left my room, and when i came back it was like that.

Yes, most often that type of artifact is either a loose or bad cable.

If the lines show during the Acer splash screen and when using the OSD with no computer connected, you have traced it to the hardware.
You might find that the power supply is in the process of failing, but it might be internal to the monitor instead.

I see, I should try changing its power cable to see if its the power cable thats causing the issue then, if not its the hardware itself that is the issue. But I am unsure of how to get a replacement power cable for it, since this is the first for me.

IIRC it's a standard power cord, not an external power brick.

Easwar said:Hi Mirea,
Monitor self test,
1. Power OFF the unit.
2. Unplug all the cables.
3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
4. Turn ON the unit and check.
Well its still showing me the same white horizontal lines from which faded out to black from right to left, before showing me cable not connected... The funiest thing is that only the very top, i think roughly about 10 horizontal lines, are ok but the rest are still the same

If you are seeing the same artifact when connected to two different computers, it's not the computer. If you have tried more than one cable (especially if they didn't come in the same package, so you know they are really different from each other) then that point to the hardware on the monitor. You need to either find a technician that can diagnose the problem or pick up a different monitor.
