Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44, replacing the red backlit keyboard with the RGB one

In theory, is this doable? Would the connectors match?

I hope someone tried it because that's the only thing I'd love to change on this laptop.

Thank you in advance!

I think you cant because you need more than just connectors, like componets on motherboard to control rgb. I also read a while back you couldnt easily.
Also you would have to remove Motherboard and everything which would void warranty
    sorry

  • It should be possible, as long as this connector is soldered:

It is not soldered, you either have JBL1 or JBL2, I never found an MB with 2 connectors. If you only can find a connector and someone to solder it on the MB and RGB KB with cover as it is one piece, then it will work as the KB is controled by EC which is the same for the model, the BOIS and EC FW are the same as well.

    Hi MarkoKova16,

It is not possible because this unit motherboard featurs don't support the RGB keyboard components.

No, I don`t want to invest right now as I have to remove the old one from the cover put new one back (there is no RGB KB+Cover combo for 43 an 54 models) and have to solder JBL2 on the MB.
