Need Windows 7/recovery cd

My laptop HDD just died. Would not boot past the windows load screen in regular or safe mode and would freeze in BIOS. I never received a disk with my laptop but I do have the OEM product key for Win 7 Home edition on the bottom of my laptop. I also have two win 7 disks for the desktops that I built myself. Am I able to use these disks in conjunction with the code on my laptop in order to re-install win 7 on my laptop or do I need to get a recovery disk from Acer? If I do need the recovery disk how to I go about obtaining one? Thank you for your help.

So, I'm presuming you had built some W7 install discs? I don't understand about the pair of discs though as the install disc is a single disc. At any rate, as long as you have your licence key, you can reinstall W7 onto your new HDD with no issue. At worse, you'll have to finish off installing drivers that W7 may not have for your specific notebook... no matter, all drivers are readily available here from Acer.

I mean I built two desktops. I purchased two windows 7 licenses in order to install on these two desktops. I never made a partition disk when I first got my laptop. My question is can I use one of those Windows 7 disks to install Windows 7 on my laptop using the product code that came with my laptop. Or does the product code need to link with the disk I am installing off of? If this is the case I would need to contact acer to get a specific recovery disk.

OK so I have Windows 7 installed again but now I need the drivers. This is where the trouble comes in. I bought this laptop from China so the SN is not recognized in the US. Anyone know how I can get the drivers for this laptop? Model Number 5943G. Thanks for your help.
