I recently bought Acer Nitro 5 i5 10th 1650Ti AN515-55 and it is getting hot below arrow keys on the right without gaming too. Is it due to Battery, SSD, HDD or due to longer charger connection. Should I get it checked as it is in warranty or should I get it replaced?

    Hi,
It's hard to identify the cause of the heat, download and install HWiNFO64, run it, select Sensors tab and check the temperatures of your M.2 SSDs(if you have two).

My best guess will be the heat from the hard disk and it's reasonable too, it is a 7200rpm hdd so a bit of heat is to be expected while it's under moderate or heavy use. If you're facing hdd heating issue even without gaming then use the task manager to see which program is using the storage and if that doesn't help the try updating drivers or formatting the hard disk or resetting windows.

I have the same model, but I have upgraded the RAM to 16gb and installed a second SSD (1Tb). I have no HDD.
Even under prolonged, heavy gaming on high settings (Assassins Creed:Valhalla) I get no heat build up in the area you're getting it, so I'd say it's a fair guess that if you've installed an HDD then that's the cause.
If I remember correctly, the HDD bay is under the area you're referring to.

Thanks for responding. Yes you are right it is HDD that is causing the heat(as per https://i0.wp.com/laptopmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/internals-5.jpg?resize=1000%2C704&ssl=1). But Why is it getting heated? My right wrist feels all the heat while I'm typing.

Any reason behind heating of Hard Disk like this 10 minutes after bootup without any gaming
OR should I get it replaced for free under warranty (this is a brand new laptop)

Looks like it was happening due to Virtual Memory allocation to hard disk (Page file) resulting in more pressure on it for caching.
If you have the same problem Turn Virtual Memory Set Paging Size off for Hard Disk in This PC properties->Advanced System Setting->Advanced Tab->Performance Settings->Advanced Tab->Virtual Memory and let system manage it for C drive. only.

As per Crystal Disk Info, The Reallocated Sector count is increasing which will cause HDD to fail. It is also corrupting the files. HDD heats up quickly when under pressure.
  • @SidhantKhamankarIt could also be a sata cable fault. Do you have how to check the hard drive on another computer or using an external usb adapter?
