A screenshot or phone photo would be worth a thousand words.  Try this. If the mouse pointer shows inside the bar, press & hold the left mouse button and drag the bar to the bottom of the screen.

Can not get an image as my mouse will not go into the black bar, its a dead zone.  The right side of the desktop stops there.

    (1) Did this happen suddenly for no apparent reason?

    (2) What is full ACER model number? For example E5-575G? A515-42?

No its been doing it for a longtime BUT "sometimes" when I start the Acer it starts like normal no black deadzone bar.  I purchased a faster, newer laptop as BestBuy said the repair will cost more than its value.  Model 5610-4534 running Vista.  I did take a camera shot of the lappie LCD so you can see the dead, black part on the right side of the LCD.   I would like to get it fixed as I want to give to a local needy family.  I have no use for it anymore having 2 other computers.
