    Hi CMichael,

Are you getting any light indication in the CPU.

I didn't last night, but was able to get it to boot (kinda) this morning. I got past the welcome screen but then it just refused to access anything more than settingsm and I tried to reset it to a clean install, but it just refuses to go there-does not respond to mouse-clicks. When I try to shut it down, it takes 15 minutes or so to respond if it decides to. I tried to get it to shut down as I needed to go to a doctor's appointment in town, and it would not, so finally, in frustration, I pushed the button in back "clear CMOS" in hopes that would help. now, it will not boot up with no light anywhere, including on the CPU

That is not sounding good... Are you still in warranty? If so get in touch with Acer support and see what they say. If not we're going to need to do a bunch of diagnostics to figure out what is wrong.
