travelmate 7730 upgrade

in TravelMate and Extensa
hey guys!

i have an acer travelmate 7730, it is nostalgic and big. i want to tune this thing and make it a good laptop and maybe even possible to play light games on it.

but first i have several questions:
1) the gpu is upgradeable, but can i replace it with dx11 gpu?
2) the cpu is slow and i can change it. can i change it with 3ghz one?
3) the laptop has 3gb ram. can i upgrade it to 8gb?
4) we have 2 network card slots. can one be offered for an nvme?
5) can i upgrade network card with faster one?
6) can i upgrade the fan to a quieter one?
7) can i upgrade cooling for better performance?

okay sorry for this much questions in one topic... xD. but i think this pc will work pretty good if i can do 4 things of those. 

what i noticed about this laptop is:

1)cpu gets wayyy too hot
2)gpu had dx10
3)battery drains
4)the gpu is dedicated and removeable

    1. You can upgrade to either 9600m or 9300m gpu but still in dx10. Or you can use the 2nd wifi card slot for the external gpu.
    2. The cpu ugrade you can try is core 2 duo t9900
    3. The laptop can only support up to 4gb ram.
    4. No Nvme isn't compatible.
    5. You can try 7260ac wifi card.
    6,7 You can try to clean and put a good thermal paste.

    Just in addition and as "AnhEZ28" has advised, your 7730 takes the Penryn Socket P CPU's the max is the 2 Duo P9700 (2 core-2 threads-2.8GHz-FSB 1066MHz-L2 6MB-TPD 28W) and with the RAM, the best type is the DDR3-1066 2GB SO-DIMM memory which is what is specified for this laptop by Acer.

    thats pretty weird... cuz this laptop has ddr2 memory, or does it support ddr3 too? (which would be weird)

    You are correct @laptoptuner7730, DDR2 in that model. Here's what Acer specs say: "Up to 2 GB of DDR2 667 MHz memory, upgradeable to 4 GB using two soDIMM modules", which seems to mean they had models that shipped with either a single 1GB module or a single 2GB module, but they could all be upgraded to 4GB in total. Remember that to use the full 4GB (if you have that much installed) you'd also need to upgrade to a 64bit OS, they shipped with Vista 32bit.
