i recently bought a new cpu processor for my po3 620 orion 3000. i was running a i5 10400f and when i made the switch to my new i7 10700k it didnt boot up. someone in this forum said it was possible. im just wondering what could be the cause of this issue. is it bios? is it my power supply? i should be able to run it with my current power supply. i dont know much about cpus but i did do some research please help

Seeing that your OEM CPU is the i5-10400F you should always replace the CPU with the same digits CPU and not deviate to other models, the compatible 10th Gen Intel CPU with your OEM i5-10400F is the Intel i7-10700F Socket 1200/Comet Lake/8 core/16 threads/2.9 to 4.8GHz/TPD 65W and not the i7 10700K. Also see what exact Intel 400 desktop chipset to cpu compatibilities your PO3 620 mobo is running and that the chipsets compatibilities are? The i7-10700F is compatible with these Intel chipset which are; the H410, the B460, the H470, the Z490 and the Q470 Intel chipsets.

That is a good question. Motherboard and or PSU to flimsy to take the extra power for the 10700k ? Bios to crippeled to acomodate extra overclock possibilities anyway ?

You should be able to use the i7-10700F and i9-10900F. Very possibly the i7-10700 and i9-10900 will also work, since that use the same power. The K models will have issues since they require so much more power (135W vs. 65W).
