    Hi RashidRajpoot,

    # Power drain,

    1.Unplug the AC power adapter.
    2. Shutdown the unit.
    3. Search for a pinhole on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.
Check this T/S and post the result.

@RashidRajpoot, which TravelMate P257 model do you have? The -M or -MG or a different one? Most of those models are old enough that you could be running into the normal wear and tear on the cable that goes through the hinges to connect the display to the motherboard. Over time the flexing can cause the wires to start to crack and that can interfere with the signal, causing artifacts on the screen. Could you take a picture to show the issue?
