BIOS update Acer Aspire xc-605

I'm deciding to update my bios because I just got a new upgrade on this computer and the bios version the system is running on is not even on Acer's page anymore. I also know the risks of update bios so I'm preparing a bios recovery drive. I currently don't have a USB drive but I do have an SD card, would that be fine with downloading bios recovery on there, or do I need a USB flash drive?

You normally just update from Windows. There are different versions for different motherboards. Which BIOS version are you running right now?

I'm currently on P11-A3L, I'm asking if an sd card is able to be used as a bios recovery drive

I don't think so, I believe they are hard coded to the USB interfaces. Since you are running Linux you should be good to upgrade to P11-B4L. Don't try a P21 BIOS though you could probably switch back to the Windows channel with P11-B4. The P21 BIOS (IIRC) is for a different motherboard in that model.
