x3990 wants non-existant driver for USB Webcam

I have a Vivitar V49152 Webcam that I've plugged into my USB port and it is asking for a driver.  However there is no driver required for this webcam.  When I plugged this webcam into our laptop it worked just fine and didn't ask for a driver.

Both computers are running Windows 7. I've been trying to figure this out all day.  Any suggestions?

I just installed a Logitech webcam, installed the correct drivers, and after restarting my computer it appears to be working.  I still wish I could figure out why the Vivitar webcam won't work.

If it works don't question the whys and wherefores.  Accept the gift from the gods of the ether at face value. We don't need to solve all of life's mysteries.

Well, it proves that my computer accepts the webcam that I borrowed, however I am still trying to get the Vivitar webcam to work.  If I can't get it to work I guess I'll have to try to return it and buy a different brand.

I cannot find a V49152 on the Vivitar site.  Did you mean V49252?  Regardless, there is no worthy tech info on their site.

Perchance, see if there is a driver on the laptop where the Vivitar works.  Other than that it will remain a mystery to me.

    Sorry
