Wireless Network Adapter not working

Aspire 5920G (Vista)...Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN#2...has stopped working...when I click keyboard button that enables/disables WiFi adapter, I get a message, "NO DEVICE". When I attempt to enable through network connections in control panel, it indicates the adapter is enabled but no connectivity.  Device Manager indicates that the device is wirking properly and the driver update function indicates I have the latest appropriate driver (Version 11.5.0.32) installed. Very frustrated - have attempted to connect by using SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING, but to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't want to sound dismissive but I wonder after you have so well checked out all issues within computer devices if it is not time to call your wifi network provider. Did you move your computer far from the modem by any chance. Have you installed new OS changed something in security settings?
