Acer Aspire 5002 - Can't find .fd file for Bios flash ?!!?!?!

Good-day, I really hope someone can help me. I recently pulled out our old (and I mean like '05/06 kinda old) Aspire 5002 WLMI that we haven't turned on for quite a while. I plugged it in since I figured the battery was more than dead. When I went to power it on, the main power light came on, the fans started running, it sounded as if the HDD started to spool up but then everything but the fan went silent and ... nothing. The screen never lit up. I've tried reseating the RAM and the HDD - no help, tried hooking it up to an external monitor as suggested in numerous posts - no signal. I read that in such cases you have to flash the bios to fix the issue but every post tells me to download the files from the acer support driver site. The files I get from that site don't have any WINDOWS or DOS folders, and none of the included files are named anything to do with .fd... It looks as though it has software that you have to be running in windows to use. I'm a pretty tech savy guy usually but this one is really vexing me. I promise though, I can follow directions really well if anyone offers. I really wanted to get this computer going for our 6-year old son to use but as of right now it's a brick. Can anyone help?

Thanks!
