Laptop hindge

I have a Aspire one small laptop about 3 lbs.

The hindge broke without any dropping or physical accident to laptop.

It is still under warranty and Acer says that hindges are not covered.

the repair is $199  Heck I only paid $249 plus tax at Costco

This is not from me dropping the laptop

This is a manufactorer defect that the hinge moves and is now separating

the screen benzel.

Please advise what I can do

If this was my decision, I would buy a new one for the extra $50 + tax.

I would also check out local computer repair shops to see if they have a hinge from a discarded computer that would fit yours. For a reasonable cost of course.  Otherwise you might check local electronics recyclers to see what might be available.
