Restore Windows 8 - W510 w/ 32GB Edition

Hi All,

I'm interested in wiping out the W510 tablet, and starting all over again.  I attempted to install Windows Media Center edition, and quickly realized that i'm almost out of disk space due to the 32GB constraint.  I would like to wipe out the partions in order to free up space.

The 32GB doesn't have the keyboard option and the ACER recovery partition or the recovery tools.

3 DVDs came with the box, i figured the recovery DVD's don't apply to the 32GB edition. I tried to boot all of them via USB CD-ROM, by setting the BIOS boot device to USB-DVD first, and was not able to boot any of the DVD's, including the Windows 8 DVD that came.

I see there is a OEM folder, copies of the drivers/software are available.  I made a copy of the OEM directory before reload.

Does anyone have the procedures for loading/wipe/recover using the 32GB ?

Thanks,

Laz.

Hello diazlaz, So If you’re looking at doing the restore on the OS (reset) the steps are actually pretty simple. The best way to do this is to Type the word “Reset” while on the Windows UI screen and click on the option under settings that says restore OS back to factory. The other option is run the Recovery media that came with the unit. The Disk would be formatted for the unit you have so would write only what came with the unit from the factory.
