Acer Aspire V3-571G-6622 Fan Hums After Windows 7

So, I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 7 and have noticed that my laptop fan has started to blow a bit harder at random spurts. Simply clicking a link in IE10, creating a new tab, or starting up a new program causes the fan to blow harder for a few seconds, then it goes back down, the starts blowing again.

Now, I understand that using up resources will cause the fan to blow harder, but the fact that it does it in such short spurts and usually at an interval bothers me. I deleted all partitions when installing Windows 7, installed it, installed the drivers from the Acer website, and then ran Windows Update. The CPU and RAM usage seem to be just fine.

If this is a problem specific to Windows 7, then I'll simply use my Windows 8 restore disk, but there has to be some other problem. I've already cleared out the very minimal dust from the fan also.

Any ideas?

Probably, and I have no data to be certain, the way the sensors are calibrated has a lower trip point and is backed by drivers/configurations.

Anyway, I would recommend you to use SpeedFan, this way you'll have a much greater control of the fan speeds.

On the desktop I've set mine to start at 40* at 50% speed then gradually increase speed as temperature reaches 50*C. At 48*C the fan is already set to spin at 100%.

The same way you can manage fan speeds for laptops.

Not a good idea to downgrade to Windows 8, imo, it's a poor made OS for non-touch devices.
