eRecovery issue-When I open the folder in my backup file I get the error message' Access Denied'

I Had to use eRecovery utility to restart my unit...I chose Option #2 tha Restores the operating system and retains User data.

Worked good...the retained user data was put in a file C\Backup...good so far...now I cannot get the data because it was originally PW protected in my previous windows setup....I know the data is in  there because the HD is about the capacity pre eRecovery mode.

When I try to open the folder in my backup file I get the error message' Access Denied'

Any ideas?

I have done this several times but it was some time ago but you can do this by...there are several ways to get to settings that apply to this and they are all slightly different.

Enter the Start menu and click on "computer"...this brings up your drives...right click on the drive in question and you should see a box come up...enter "properties" at the bottom of box...from here you can either...

1...enter the "securities" tab...half way down click into "edit permissions"...enter the add button to add names and click "apply".

When at the "securities" tab there is also at the bottom an "advanced" tab to enter which gives various options...there are various options settings here.

2...at the "properties box enter the "sharing" tab...enter "advanced" and then click the "share this folder" box...there are further settings in the advanced tab but I just don`t recall so I apologise for this but it may help you figure a way to get into your old files etc.

Hope some of this helps you figure it out...(and apologies for not being able to remember precise instructions).
