5742Z BIOS Flash for error sending end of post message to me

I have a 5742Z that displays the message

 

error sending end of post message to me

It then lasts a couple of minutes before shutting down. It doesn't matter what route I take (recovery / chdsk / normal boot) it always shuts down approximately 2 minutes later.

 

I've opened it up and cleaned the exhaust fan and done a basic check to make sure everything is seated correctly.

 

If I edit the BIOS it hangs when I save settings.

 

I'd like to flash the BIOS from 1.19 to 1.30 but can't find a definite guide on how flash it from a cold start. The flash it exe doesn't work from the recovery console cmd prompt aeither.

 

Any help mch appreciated.
