Hi, the problem that I complained about 2 weeks ago has happened again!

The black screen has come back, I have removed the adapter and the battery and switched it on and off several times and I don't know what else to do.

This is the 3rd time it has happened and I only bought it a month ago!

Help!

Common problem. Your machines should still be under warranty so it's time to contact customer service on this website thru your serial number or SNID.

If you have Windows 7, a temporary fix that usually works is to allow enough time for the operating system to fully load --- often signalled by a startup melody if you can't see the screen. Then sequentially press the WinKey + RightArrowKey + EnterKey to shut down the computer normally. Then immediately do a cold-reboot and the screen should be visible again. This seems to be a problem with the bios and you're probably better off trying to get customer service to solve your intermittant problem than messing with the bios yourself.

I have the same problem with a brand new unit. When I called for support I was immediately informed that it was a software problem and I would be charged 99. Per hour to fix it. Fortunately I found is forum....removed the battery and went with just the adapter. Powered right up. Obviously it is an ACER problem and will probably happen again. I spent the entire morning dealing with this issue Smiley Sad

I think you are probably correct on both counts. 8^)

Guaranteed you didn't reach Acer at all. You probably searched Acer on Google and dialed the first number that came up. These are paid ads and are known scammers. Acer does not provide paid technical support, they have affiliates that do but they do not charge hourly rates. They sell plans that cover a certain number of issues. The company you called was just trying to get your money.
