Removing battery everytime I charge

I own an ACER v5-471G and I always use AC. The thing I'm worried about is since remove my battery everytime I use AC then put it back when I'm done, will it somehow damage the latch or the lock in the long run? It is wise to just remove and story it in a cool dry place and put it back just when I need it or it is okay to remove and put it back from time to time?

PS: I have been told by the tech where I brought my laptop and they told me not to remove my battery as it just exposes the innards of my laptop to viruses... I laugh at it. Laptop viruses aren't airborne right? Is it? or it is not? Lol Smiley Very Happy

My recommendation would be to use the system on battery power. You can unplug the AC adapter once the battery is fully charged and use the system with battery power. This helps you in increasing/maintaining the battery life.

Also, removing the battery frequently may cause the latch to broke and it would be a pain in getting the system repaired.

I also do not agree with the statement what the store tech has told you.

Please explain why battery life is prolonged by discharge/charge cycles versus constant topping up (ie running with charger plugged in all the time).

Thanks! They say batteries have life cycles? Is that true? And, can you also explain why it is better to you use battery power? Can I also use it while charging it?
