Aspire 7720/Vista. Error message

Since recently, on start-up the computer looks for drive G (PQSERVICE) and returns an error message.

Partitions C,D and F have already been formatted and functionnal. EASEUS Partition Magic shows the hidden recovery partion as present.

The laptop works fine but the error message has me worried...

Thanks for the help.

It may be helpful to provide us with what was done prior to the messages coming up on boot.

Did you update and/or change hardware?

Did you add or remove software on the computer?

No hardware and/or configuration modifications were made to the laptop including recovery attempts.

The messages appeared soon after a "TomTom gps map update" which led me to believe that, by default, this program had created a temporary partition to save the updates. It took me two months to discover that "G" was a partition created by the computer as a hidden partition for recovery purposes.

The message usually appears once and is discarded but is sometimes appears twice or three times in a row. However it has not appeared for the last few days???

Please note that this inquiry is not vital and only serves a boggled 67 year old man who misses the former "MS-DOS" boot-up screen which showed the boot-up sequence.

Although your help is greatly appreciated, your time may be better spent solving more urgent problems.

    Thanks
