Acer Iconia W700 Wi-Fi Can't Connect to This Network

Something strange happened with my three day old Iconia W700. It was working without a hitch until today. I uninstalled McAfee and installed Microsoft Office 2010, restarted my computer, and now any network I attempt to join is greeted with "Can't connect to this network."

I tried completely removing the wireless package along with deleting the drivers and reinstalling according to the other thread that people were having dropped connections. Nothing. I also unsecured my wirless network and gave that a try. Same message. Oddly it asks for the passkey when I resecured it then fails to connect. I've now brought it to a few friends houses to see if it was just my network... nope. It does this with all networks.

Any thoughts on the issue would be greatly appriciated. It was a lovely piece of tech while it was working.

Ok, so a little more playing and I discovered that by uninstalling the windows debug wireless driver (where the hell did that come from?) my internet is back up and running. Very strange.

My download speeds though are rather bad (16kbps) while my laptop is pulling 20+ megabit at the other end of the couch. Any thoughts there?

    Hi WanderingWeasel,

    As per the other post,

can you please also try the following:

Download the latest driver from Acer Support site.

    - Please make sure the version of the Wirelesss Lan Driver to be downloaded  is: 10.0.0.217

As this is a combo dirver it will also upgrade the bluetooth to 8.0.0.214. Hence the big filesize 220MB.

    - Go into control panel and remove the current wireless lan + bluetooth drivers.

    - Once removed you can go through and install the newest downloaded driver.

    - Restart tablet after installation
