No boot device error on AO722

I think I have a hard drive failure.  I don't have the recovery cd's -

    hdd prob.. try to see wether hdd is detected in bios or not..

    Could be the HDD and yes checking if it's visible in the BIOS is a good call. But you don't necessarily need the RCD's to do a recovery. While the computer is turning on press and hold the alt key and tap repeatedly on F10. Keep doing this from the Acer logo for about 20 seconds. If it works you will see a white bar pop up that says "Windows is loading files". It will allow you reinstall your OS.

     

    If it does work it means that your boot sector was the problem. If not your HDD is likely gone or you need RCD's which can be ordered from Acer up to 3 years after the production date.
