Iconia w700 Woes...help if you can

Hi to all, my first time here as I bought Iconia W700 as a present to my wife few days ago Smiley Happy Unfortunately it isn't smooth sailing with my device and I hope someone can help me resolve the issues I have.

Initially after turning it on for the first time I updated Windows, restarted and...nothing...no boot. After following some advices here I downloaded SingleLanguage Windows 8 form the net, since Acer does not deliver Windows 8 setup disc and made bootable USB since at that time I had no USB DVD player. Setup went fine even though I had to use legacy mode, apart form that I had to reformat SSD to new partition layout. I downloaded and installed the drivers from the Acer W700 support page and seemingly everything worked fine until first standby. After exiting standby mode the screen was split to half(showing  upper half of the screen on both the bottom and top of the screen...very annoying). Tried updating drivers from Intel directly and it did not fix it. After messing around for a day, and accomplishing nothing, I decided to plunge some money into External DVD/RW to be able to restore the system(which by the way IMHO is totally unacceptable and lazy solution from ACER, for the device that has no Optical media hardware built in...I hope someone in Acer will rectify this horrendous solution to restoring the system).

The Restoration DVDs struggle: As already been posted here, this recovery system is like an aftethought...nothing worked as it should, Iconia kept flipping me turn on legacy mode, turn on UEFI mode, no boot media....etc. I snapped and made a live USB with Fedora 18 and deleted the partitions(this on my surprise worked, and everyone who had an issue to make recovery discs work, can try this accidental solution Smiley Happy ) Recovery finally started the setup, and after ~5 hours I was able to boot into Acer Windows 8 system.

Now everything works in hardware except the keyboard and this is the main reason I'm writing this. Iconia W700 I have is the one without that big dock, and with updated hardware specifications (core i3-2375M is inside). The keyboard is attached to a Leathery casing which connects to tablet Wia USB(I'm not sure if this is a connection and power, or this is just the power for the keyboard and keyboard itself is bluetooth. I couldn't find any info on that anywhere since the manual show the old style standalone bluetooth keyboard.

As far as software goes, the PBRFix(Acer PBR Utility) also found on the support page refuses to work, it shows some x00001221(not these numbers but something similar) error. The fix supposedly fixes the problems in restore partition. Why does it not work I have no idea at all.

Can someone help me find the solutions to my problems? Thanks.

This is how it looks:

the keyboard connects via bluetooth, the usb cable is only or charging the keyboard. So just re-pair the keyboard by pressing the power button on the keyboard and hold it until it starts flashing blue and red, the swipe from the right in windows>settings>chang pc settings>devices>add new device.

Thanks Timeacer, I was able to find out by messing with power button that the keyboard is indeed bluetooth. Thx for the help though Smiley Happy

Now my other problem remains with that PBR_fix utility. I suspect that the recovery partition is the culprit of not being able to boot after Windows 8 updates, and this Acer utility could potentially fix the problem. If You have any ideas, please share.
