I want to upgrade my iConia W500 to Windows 8 and increase the SSD to 64GB, can this be done?  Will Acer sell the necessary parts?

You won't get any help from Acer. They want you to buy a newer product. I've tried.

They also consider the technical manuals proprietary. That said the SSD is a SMD and it takes some really good/expensive equipment to change properly (can allso just cut all leads, remove individually and clean out the holes but this is a real pain and will void the warrenty. Can't you use a big SD card ? 64GB are pleantiful and 128 GB is available. Just be glad Acer provides SD sockets.
