That sounds like a great plan.  RAM upgrades extend the life of a usable system without a large cost.

The Extensa 5235 series had two different memory specifications, dependant upon processor and configuration.

The system is upgradable to a maximum of 4 GB of RAM.

    Dual-channel DDR3 SDRAM support for Intel Celeron processor T3100/ T3000 or 900

    • Up to 2 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory, upgradeable to 4 GB using two soDIMM modules

Dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM support for Intel Celeron processor T1600/T1700, or 585

    • Up to 2 GB of DDR2 667 MHz memory, upgradeable to 4 GB using two soDIMM modules
