I am servicing a customer's Acer Aspire Model 5050-5954 laptop. They never created the recovery discs and now Windows Vista will not boot.
I have tried to repair the windows installatiuon with the Vista DVD with no luck.
I have physically removed the hard drive and copied all the private files to my server for storage.
I was going to restore the system to factory default condition using the ALT-F10 at boot, however when I attemp to enter the default password for eRecovery Software on hidden partition (listed in the manual as default password is "000000"), I keep getting an invalid password response.
Can this eRecovery password be bypassed so that I can service this machine without telling the customer to order a set of recovery discs?
Thanks,
Tom C
