Model: Predator Triton 14 — PT14-51-7979
Hello Acer Support,
I need to replace/upgrade the internal WLAN module and want to confirm interface compatibility for my unit.
- My laptop shipped with Killer 1675i / Intel AX211, which uses Intel CNVio2 on the M.2 2230 E-key WLAN socket.
- I understand that all Intel/Killer Wi-Fi 7 modules available today are either:
- PCIe/USB (“NGW”) (e.g., Intel BE200 / Killer BE1750), or
- CNVio3 (e.g., Intel BE201),
and therefore none use CNVio2.
Questions for my exact PT14-51 unit:
A) Will ANY Wi-Fi 7 module work in this laptop?
(If yes, please specify which models are supported.)
B) Does the internal M.2 E-key WLAN socket on this PT14-51 expose PCIe signaling (i.e., supports PCIe/USB “NGW” operation), or is it CNVio2-only?
- If PCIe is present, would Intel BE200 / Killer BE1750 be supported?
- If PCIe is not present (CNVio2-only), then I understand Wi-Fi 7 modules would not be compatible.
C) Is there any BIOS/EC whitelist that restricts which WLAN modules the system will accept?
I’m trying to determine whether a Wi-Fi 7 Killer-series card can be used, or if I must remain on CNVio2 Wi-Fi 6E (AX211/AX411 class).
Thank you for confirming the WLAN slot’s interface (CNVio2 vs PCIe-routed E-key) and any approved module part numbers for my serial.
Best regards,
-Chris
