Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71): Battery Icon Disappearing

Hello,

I am using Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71) with i5-13500HX and RTX 4050 (GPU is dead).

I am using the latest 1.18 BIOS version and all the drivers are installed.

I am having a weird visual glitch where the battery icon disappears in the task bar when booting up and when removing the AC adapter then the battery still shows charging and stuck at 100%. I have tried reinstallation the battery detection driver but no avail. I have also opened my laptop back cover and disconnect and reconnect the battery connector to check if it made any difference, didn't did.

Only solution which I found is to shut down the laptop and then hold the power button for 60 seconds to EC reset and then after that battery icon appears and is actually detecting charging state and battery percentage, but now this is happening very frequently and this is a temporary solution every time. Is there a permanent solution to it that I can do?

Open the Task Manager. On the Processes tab, click the "Name" column heading to sort the processes alphabetically. Scroll down to the Windows processes section and find the Windows Explorer entry. Right‑click the Windows Explorer entry and select Restart in the pop‑up menu.

Also one more point to note is that I have only 8 GB DDR5 RAM as my other 8 GB RAM stick died, it was the OEM samsung RAM stick. Right now many of the RAMS are limited in stock and very priced highly, so cannot buy new RAM sticks right now

Anyways, is there any solution?

Windows 11 version 24H2 cannot run reliably with only 8 GB of RAM. The Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16‑71) requires at least 16 GB RAM for proper operation, and 32 GB is preferred for gaming or heavy workloads.

With only one 8 GB stick installed, you will also lose dual‑channel performance, which further reduces stability and speed. To avoid system glitches and driver/EC issues, you should replace the faulty module and restore at least 16 GB before attempting to use W11 24H2.
